Storyboard – Episode 51

What is your view about a lady proposing to a man?

a. It is not acceptable.
b. It is a sign of deep love.
c. It is done out of desperation.

SCENE 1

There I saw a letter that read:

“Dear Jade,
I believe you know how difficult it could be for a lady to propose to a man. But, I can’t help satisfying my desire. I have spoken to you with all I could use but you have been the same man. Such a quality is commendable though my intention was never obscure or immoral. It is natural.

SCENE 2

“Jade, it is a common belief that rich ladies always turn pompous after marriage. I want to assure you my own case is a difference. I have tasted the two sides of life; I have known nothingness and somethingness. So if you share the same feeling, respect my invitation. If you do not, I would not like hanging around you anymore because the more I see you as a friend, the sad I become.”

SCENE 3

The next paper I saw in the envelope was a filled, signed cheque having my name, Jade Jackson, boldly written as the payee.

SCENE 4

I planned on how I would perfectly spend the following day… I would visit Bisi to detail who Chioma was and schedule our marriage for August 20 – two months ahead.

SCENE 5

On our wedding day, we danced and had merry moment; we also exchanged our vows and rings. I then opened her veil while the crowd were expectant of my next action. Then my phone rang.

SCENE 6

“Hello, Mr Jade,” a man with a deep voice disturbed my hearing… He then apologised and explained to me that Bisi was a victim of an accident. She had been admitted into the hospital for three days.
